My Beaver Shot

Since we’re on a roll here with modeling techniques. I came across this awesome tutorial on how to make a Sketch & Toon style beaver. It’s a 20-lessons tutorial on how to model the beaver starting with just a plain Capsule. Then after the modeling was done, he explained how to use the Sketch & Toon render settings. This is a first and second circular view of the beaver. I will try some different style in rendering, lightings and textures settings, to show the difference in styles.

My Jason Statham Fail

So I got really excited about my new modeling tryout in Cinema 4D, that I decided to try and step it up a notch. I was wondering if making a realistic head would be more difficult. I came across this picture of a side and front view of Jason Statham and decided to try and make that head in Cinema 4D. Well a couple of things went well and a whole lot of things went wrong! First of all, it doesn’t look at all like Jason Statham. Secondly, the ears are a pain in the ass to make! Have to figure out how this is easier to make. For now, I just took the easy way and placed some headphones on his head, so the ears were no longer a problem.

But, even though it’s a total Jason Statham failure! I’m still very pleased with the end-result. It’s a realistic looking head-figure and I like the glossy-effect of the lights.

My Model

PIXAR here I come!! Well, not quit yet, because this is my very first attempt into modeling a cartoonish female in Cinema 4D. I’m very pleased with the end result (although I don’t like her mouth. It looks like a monkeys). It took me about three days to get the hang of it and to figure out all the problems I came across durong this modeling. It’s not an easy job, I can tell you that. But hopefully I’ll get better at it, and I will learn how to do it the right way (instead of my trial and error attempt). But it will certainly do for now.

Here is my sketch on paper when I got started:

My Garage

As a result of our very first photography project together, Willemijn and I decided to make it sort of official. So we came up with the name De Garage (because we shot this first assignment in a garage, simple as that).So check out our very new website, and if you’ve got a cool idea or want some nice photos, let us know.

My Easter Weekend

This Easter we had our little nephew over for the weekend. We went to my parents for a couple of days in the outdoors of Brabant. It was beautiful weather and all we did was swim, play soccer and have a BBQ. We slept in a tent outside. It was a really nice weekend.

My first commercial

And here it is… my very first TV Commercial. We started out a couple of months ago and after a couple of failed concepts this is the one that got produced. The setting took place in Haarlem. Below you can see the end-result and the photos of the shooting day.
